Eagle Project Start

I can't remember if I have written about Matthew's Eagle Project or not.
Anyways he is doing a Book Drive for his old, old elementary school, Chamberlayne Elementary.
He is collecting new or like-new books for their school. His goal is 500 and I am thinking that is a big goal. We started putting them on this table to be able to count them but have more organization since they come from different places. They don't usually come in boxes.
He got the ok to do this, the end of Feb and it will be going until the end of April. It will be a long process.
I think he has reached his goal by this point.

More Hair

I did this hairstyle on the girls but it was HARD. It was hard because these don't really stay in. It looks kind of cool, but I didn't absolutely love it, and it was pretty hard.

Allison's Field Day

Each year the kids have field day. That just means that they are basically doing some sort of game/activity outside pretty much all day long.
Their PE teacher teaches ALL of the students in their school the same dance and then they do it at the beginning of the day.
Allison likes learning the new songs.

Of course we came and Allison LOVED having Michelle with her class and just came along with them doing the activities. Allison's class color is orange, so I even had Michelle wearing an orange shirt (though they didn't take off their jackets) so that Michelle would be apart of the class:)

Allison is such a great sister, helping her do these.

This is such a cute picture.
Allison was SOOOO sad that she got a male teacher.
But she has loved having Mr. Crew. Unfortunately Mr. Crew has one of his hardest classes because of the many not great boys that are in the class and it is tiring for him, but it is almost over for him.
Allison is a teacher's pet though. It is funny.
He won't ever call her Rainbow Dash, even though most people call her that now, but he will say, Rainbow Sparkle. They joke with each other and it is funny to hear what they are going on about. I think he has changed her mind about how bad a male teacher is:)
She is already sad about moving onto middle school, I think mostly because she won't get to give her previous teachers a hug every morning. But also she is very worried about getting lost in her new school.

The boys did a pyramid.

Matthew was actually home sick so I knew that we wouldn't be able to spend the whole day here but when the time came for us to go home, clearly Michelle did not want to leave. She loves her sister so much. Such a very sad, sad face.

Pinkie Pie

I just love my little "Pinkie Pie". She is adorable and fun to have around. If she hurts her foot or her hand she comes to tell me that her "hoof hurts". It is so funny and weird.
:)

Michelle's B-day Cake

I tend to not usually have things together all the time, or just decided that some things don't have to done before a certain event, which makes my life easier sometimes. I know that making a cake takes time so I put this one off until after Michelle's birthday. She wanted a Pinkie Pie Cake. So of course, that is what I tried to do for her, when I got to it.
It was like two weeks later before I actually did it but we make a pink Strawberry cake and she so happily helped me with.

Then I frosted/decorated it to look like My Little Pony's Pinkie Pie.

She absolutely loved it and we finally finished celebrating her birthday after about a month:)

Butterfly Hair

I have been looking to see what kind of cool hairstyles I could find and came across this one.
I did it and it is now Michelle's favorite hairstyle. She got sad when I took it out and then wanted it back in.
The antennas on Michelle's is not in the middle, and I fixed it the next time I did it. I have gotten pretty good at it, but it still takes about 30-45 minutes.

Flying Kites

I bought kites I think at the dollar stores MANY years ago, I think it was in Texas actually but just never remembered I had them until after it was a windy day. This day it was windy and Michelle mentioned something about a kite and I almost freaked out remembering that I had a couple. We went out and flew kites. I think it was one of the first times I had ever done it before. It was actually REALLY fun. I should have gone to a more open area but for some reason I didn't. It was still really fun. We got one caught in a tree once and then the other one almost a couple times. The kids had fun with them too when they came home from school.

You can barely even see this one, it was a small Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle kite. It is to the right of the big tree, right above a house.
I had a bigger princess kite but apparently never got a picture of it. I was having too much fun.

Crazy Hair Day

I saw on Facebook a couple years ago, a childhood friend had made her daughter's hair like this so I locked it away for the next time there was a crazy hair day, this is what I would do.
Allison didn't like it at first, she thought it was done and was REALLY worried about the kids laughing at her but when she started getting positive feedback on the bus, she thought it was pretty fun.

Playing with Dad

Chris is not a very hands-on dad. He level of tolerance for kids is slim to none. He does much better when it is one on one because then they can't fight with each other or bug each other. He is an incredible husband but he doesn't think he is the greatest dad.
He was out playing with Michelle on the trampoline and I thought it was cute so I had to get a picture.

Just Reading...

One Sunday, Matthew "caught" Michelle just "reading".
He thought it was adorable so he snapped a picture of it. It is even more funny/adorable that it is the THE ERA!! hahaha

Reading Olympics

Allison loved her Reading Olympics team this year and she loved being a 5th grader. She read almost all of them and was proud of that.
Reading Olympics is where there is a list of about 50 books and they have about 8 kids on each team. You have about 4-5 months to read as many books as you can and then you all come together on competition day and get quizzed over all of the books from that list. They have many different rounds with different teams and after each round you get a certain amount of point depending on how many questions you answered correctly. Then at the awards ceremony they found out which team had the most points.
Her team ended up winning 1st!!!!
Pretty amazing!!!

Flowers for Mom

I am not a big flower person....at all. I like Tulips because they remind me of my mom, and roses are pretty, but other than that, I don't really care for them.
We have these daffodils in our yard and Michelle went and picked them and brought them to me so that I could have them. Such a sweet little cutie. I am totally ok with my kids picking whatever flowers they want since I don't have any Tulips or roses:)
Such a sweet thought and gesture though.

Storytime

We went to storytime one week and since there were so few kids they each got two of these ribbon things and had a lot of fun with them.

Making Breakfast

My little sweetie wants to be my helper in the kitchen quite a bit and this morning she wanted to make her own scrambled eggs so she did a lot of it.

Deep Breaths

Allison keeps taking deep breaths all. the. time.
She did it for like a week straight and so finally I took her to the Dr. just to make sure everything was ok.
These two love to match.
Allison LOVES My Little Pony and her favorite one is Rainbow Dash so she has a lot of rainbow stuff and since Allison is Rainbow Dash, Michelle has decided that she likes Pinkie Pie the best so she is Pinkie Pie. I am apparently Applejack because I am always working, Matthew is Spike.

Anyways, these sisters love to be together.

It turns out that nothing is wrong with Allison, it is just like a tic of hers or something.
She sometimes forgets about it for a week or two and then she will start doing the deep breaths again. Weird, but as long as I know she is actually ok, it doesn't bother me as much. Dr. Tull said to not point it out as much so she forgets about it and it will go away eventually.
Just glad to know everything is fine with her.

Family B-day Dinner

Like usual, our family birthday dinner, we went to Texas Roadhouse.

Michelle made sure that she brought her Yeehaw for when she sat on the saddle.

She liked it at first and then with all the Yeehaws she didn't like all the noise anymore.

Here is big sister trying to help comfort her.

Some birthday presents
A Pinkie Pie lanyard
A Pinkie Pie little stuffed animal that goes on a lanyard.
Some rainbow pants like her big sister has.
A stuffed animal Pinkie Pie
and a long shirt with ruffles on it but because of the ruffles she calls it her ballet shirt.

Grandma McNiven also sent her this apron that has spots for the crayons and a Book of Mormon coloring book and the Book of Mormon for little readers book.
