It is already June and I am finally putting this up. Matthew turned 6 towards the end of April.
Matthew is growing up so fast and I don't like it. He is my sweet, way too sensitive little boy. He is very caring and fun to be around. I love that he can read me books and I just have to listen. He loves bringing new books home from the library to read to me. His teacher told him that he needed to start getting chapter books and challenge him a little bit more. He LOVES Star Wars and Legos, and putting those two together are the best. He has also recently gotten into Spinjas or Ninjago. There are a Lego and Ninja game. He is VERY VERY sensitive. Little things can set him off. He is a good kid for the most part and he is not stubborn, which is so nice since Allison is VERY stubborn. I would take a very sensitive child over a very stubborn child any day. He loves his English teacher, Mrs. Greenlee. His favorite color was green until recently when Allison's favorite color became green, so now it is orange.
Matthew loves reading and being read to.
He loves to play board games, even if nobody will actually play with him, he will play both sides.
Matthew loves playing Wii and XBox, of course who doesn't. He loves to play Star Wars, Dynasty Warriors, Mario Party and any other games he daddy wants to teach him how to play on those two consoles. The funny/cool thing about him playing anything is that he stands on his tiptoes, and not only that but he constantly jumps, on his tip toes. He jumps and jumps and jumps. He gets a huge workout just playing because he is jumping nonstop the whole time. He would almost venture to say he gets more of a workout playing video games then he does at recess or at P.E. That is how much he jumps and jumps, and it is on his tiptoes. He is going to have solid calves. No wonder why he is a scrawny kid. We have even tried having him just sit on the couch and he pops up and starts jumping. It is hilarious to watch.
Matthew likes looking at the Warhammer figures that Chris paints and gets excited to see what Chris has done and Chris just eats it up. Matthew loves to play Warhammer when Chris is willing to put it all up and play with him.

Matthew gets along pretty well for the most part with Allison
Matthew likes to be the big brother and sometimes wants Allison to listen to him and not mommy, even though it would be the same answer. He is a good big brother and watches out for her.
Matthew's favorite foods are mac and cheese and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches.
Matthew has an interesting vocabulary which is partly our fault. It is fun to hear him say big words.
Though he does say big words, there are a few words that he says incorrectly that we just laugh internally. However, I can only think of one right now. When I think of the other one I will have to update this later. The one word that he says incorrectly that I can remember is destroyed. He says extroyed. We have tried to tell him it is destroyed not extroyed and he won't believe us. As for right now, we will let him say extroyed.
A few of the not so great things about Matthew are, like I said earlier, being so sensitive, overreacts about little things. The last negative thing I will say is that Matthew has a bit of a temper. He doesn't get sent to timeout very often, but when he does, he is not a happy camper and does NOT want to be in timeout. He throws a tantrum which makes him stay in timeout longer, but he eventually gets a grip and figures it out.
He is such a good boy and I love having him be my little buddy. I am so lad that his is out of school and that he gets to be with me every day this summer and we can do so many things together and enjoy having him around.

Matthew's sixth birthday was on Saturday, so he got spoiled rotten, I think. He wanted donuts and chocolate milk for breakfast, then he got to go with daddy to Chuck E. Cheese. I stayed home with Allison to get more party stuff done. We went to Chick-fil-A for lunch and played there awhile and then went home and got ready for his birthday party. I am sure he got to play a lot of video games also. He was loving his special day, and I think we did a good job to make him feel special.
