Our Dog-Friend Akira

When our good friend, Sharon Richardson goes out to town, she takes her dog, Akira, to a vet so they can take care of her while they are gone, but she asks the kids to go visit her occasionally and play with her.
So here we are having fun with Akira

Michelle's ONE year old!!!

Michelle turned one year old and we had a tiny little party for her. We invited Hal & Debbie Dalton, Donnie & Carol Taylor, and Sharon Richardson.
The Taylors and Sharon were able to come.

Free for all on the cupcakes!

2016 Basketball Season

Allison's team was an all-girls team this year. Her coaches were a lot more hardcore but still fun coaches. They were great and have been coaching for awhile.
Allison's team ended up undefeated.  Allison was pretty timid but she learned a lot also. She was the younger ones of the 2rd/3rd graders.

Matthew's 4th/5th grade team

Matthew is timid as well, but he could see things that others couldn't, like how the defense kept lining up and those types of things. It really helped the coaches out a lot. He liked the mental part of it while sitting on the bench but he didn't like actually being in the game.
His assistant coach did introduce him to the Michael Vey series which Matthew LOVES so that is the positive that came out of this season.

Here was Matthew's shot. It takes a lot of talent to make a ball do this.

Here he is reading his Michael Vey books.

Virginia State Capitol

Matthew's 4th grade went to the state capitol and I got to be a chaperone with him.
It was fun to learn all about the state capitol

Shortly after I brought Allison back to see it also.

Michelle's 1 Year Old Measurements

I decided to go to Matthew's field trip instead of going to Michelle's one year appointment and sent Chris instead. She even got shots that day too. He was really good about it but I was thinking about her all day.
Here are her one year old measurements from March 9, 2016:
Weight: 21 lbs 4 oz which is 80%
Height: 29 1/4 inches which is 52%
Head Circumference: 18 inches which is 72%

Michelle's 1 Year Old Photoshoot

I thought these pictures were gone FOREVER!!

In April or May, my laptop died. Just flat out died without any warning. I had just deleted all of my pictures off of my SD card in my camera because I had put it on my laptop. I was pretty devastated. I hadn't backed anything up in at least over a year. That meant all of Michelle's birth to current pictures were gone unless they were on this blog or facebook.
We took it to Best Buy and they said it would cost $1500 to TRY to get something off of it if they could. We were trying to decide if that was "worth" it/would we be able to find that much money we could use. Our friend works at some Federal building, dealing with pulling information off of hard drives. His wife insisted that we let him take it to work and see what they could come up with. Apparently he is pretty high up on the totem pole because he gave it to his team to work on. He used it as training material.

They retrieved EVERYTHING!!!!
I still haven't found anything that they didn't get back. It cost us $0 but of course we paid him money and gift cards and certificates and such because we were SOOO thankful. They help us so much, I am glad that I get to help set up for their daughter's wedding reception coming up. We are so very blessed to have them in our lives. A. & B. Dalton, our life savers.

Anyways, I am VERY GRATEFUL I can now share these photos.
