Easter Celebrations

I think Matthew really enjoyed all the fun of Easter but we tried to teach him why we celebrate Easter. We had our Family Home Evening on Easter and Chris was explaining to Matthew why we celebrate Easter. Chris said we celebrate Christmas because Jesus was born and we celebrate Easter because Jesus died and was resurrected. So at the end when we asked Matthew why we celebrate Easter his reply was, "because Jesus was boring." It gave us a good laugh but we had to correct our son. We had to explain that daddy said BORN not BORING. After asking the question of why we celebrate Easter many, many times, his reply is now "because Jesus was resurrected." I don't know if he really understands whay that means but that is what his reply is now.
During preschool, Matthew got to play so many fun games and do fun activities for Easter.

Matthew and Anabelle get along really well. I just love this little girl. She is so cute and lovable.

Instead of dying eggs, they put there eggs in a box and had paint on the paper and they rolled the egg around and colored it that way.

We never got around to actually dying eggs which I sort of feel bad about but hopefully next year we will. Matthew went on a total of 4 egg hunts, between preschool, church, home and community held one. I think he got a pretty good idea of what it was all about.
We decided that since the Easter Bunny doesn't have a sleigh like Santa Claus and isn't able to get around to all the children in one night he would come to our house the day before. Ok, actually I just knew that we wouldn't make it to church on time if we did any Easter festivities so we did it Saturday morning. Matthew loved finding the eggs the Easter Bunny left and then also seeing what was in his basket.

Matthew got candy, Memory game, shorts, pants, and best of all Mater. Mater is a very hard little tow truck to find. Boy was the Easter Bunny good with bringing that for him. Now McQueen has his best friend.

Grandma and Grandpa sent this for Matthew which he loves to play with every night. Yeah!!

The Easter Bunny brought Matthew and Allison a bubble maker so Matthew got to play in the bubbles.

Circus

There was a circus that came into town and combined with the libraries. If your child read (or was read to) five books, your child could get a free ticket to the circus. Some of our friends had coupons for $5 off our tickets. We were actually able to go to the circus as a family for under $20. It was so awesome. I had been to a circus before but Chris never had. It was so fun to go as a family. Chris thought it was really good. He loved that there were so many different acts which kept your interest. I think his favorite part was the 3 motorcycles all zooming around in the ball with a woman inside and they never hit each other. My favorite part was the clown type guy. He disassembled his bike while riding it and for his oncure he rode the tinist little bike. I cannot because how small that thing was. It was like a barbie's bike or even smaller then that. Absolutely incredible.

Bluebonnets

I wanted to get pictures of the kids in the bluebonnets but I kept putting it off. I came across this cute craft online that I decided we would make for our Family Home Evenings for Grandma and Grandpa. They are always thinking of us so we thought this would be a cute thing for them. Then I thought it would be cute to put a picture on it since they don't get to see the kids much at all. I pushed me into getting the pictures done. Needless to say the grandparents loved this and displayed it proudly on their fridge. Gram said Grandpa made sure he showed everybody that came to their house his cute grandchildren.

Brotherly/Sisterly Love

I love seeing families with just a boy and girl and those two being the best of friends. I hope that is what Matthew and Allison become. I love the love they show for each other. Allison just adores Matthew and loves to just be entertained by him. Matthew is protective over his sister and lets me know is something is wrong with her. However, when she is crying and he can't get her to smile or laugh he will say, "Stop it Allison, put a sock in it." Hmmm I wonder where he hears that from. Though he should not be saying that nor should we for that matter but it is funny to hear it come out of his mouth.

Preschool at the Zoo

Matthew's preschool class had a lesson on zoo animals and then a field trip to the zoo was scheduled and canceled three different times due to thunderstorms and sick kids. We finally set a day and when we woke up that morning we had healthy kids and good weather. It ended up all working out so well. One dad was able to come and Chris was able to stay home so I didn't have to take Allison with me. It was so nice to just enjoy the day with Matthew. I love only having to worry about one. We had such a great day at the zoo with all our friends, and the weather was perfect.

The first bench Matthew came to he took a seat. I thought if he is already tired then we are going to have a long day. He sat on most of the benches. I don't know if he was just checking them out or actually trying to rest.

As soon as we got into the zoo, the first stop was to the bathrooms since we have lots of potty trained/training preschoolers. As we were waiting I kept hearing this annoying child screaming/crying or making some noise that was really irritating. I kept wondering when that child was going to stop it. We finally ventured to the noise and found out that it was a monkey. I had never heard a monkey before so this was an interesting sound. This monkey had been calling for a long time and continued calling for a long time. He was doing this for at least 15 minutes, I just had to get a video of it.
One guy said the monkey at one point had his hands up over his mouth as he was calling.
