May Happenings

I think this picture is me being in Webelos, just because I was in the Primary presidency over Cub Scouts, and Matthew is a Webelos

Allison's 2nd Grade Play

In this school only the 2nd and 4th graders get to put on plays. Matthew had one in December, but he only had a few lines. I also didn't know what to expect.
It was finally Allison's turn and her play was called Arf. It was all about dogs. It was funny how many jokes and puns there were. She was in 4/5 of the scenes and I knew what to expect a bit more so I invited Grandma Dalton (Debbie Dalton), Grammy Pat (Pat Gill) and Sharon Richardson to come and they all came. It was so fun to see these ladies show their love for Allison and I. It made me feel really good.

We stayed a week with Daltons before we were able to get into our new house. The kids decided that they should be their adopted Grandparents. Here is Grandma Dalton holding Michelle.

Allison was Bernie, the St. Bernard.

Allison loves this picture because her best friend Anna Burke is right next to her.

Here are the special people:
Grandma Dalton, Sharon Richardson (who could be their aunt), and Grammy Pat

Matthew wanted to join their picture.

Allison did a great job and we laughed throughout the whole thing. It seemed like A LOT of work went into putting everything together.

Living Room

I finally spent some time organizing these bookshelves. It all seems older so one day I hope to update things but it won't be today. At least it is a little better than all the haphazardly placement it was previously.

Video

We just have so much fun with Michelle. I am so thankful that we finally got her. We all just adore her. The kids think she doesn't get in trouble, only THEY get in trouble but when Michelle gets into something and I tell her no, or when she sucks her thumb and I tell her no, the kids get more upset about it then Michelle does. It is funny.

Here is a little video, though not great quality on here, but it has all the kids on it. It is fun to have Michelle respond to us, like when we ask her to do her scrunchy face and she scrunches up her nose or when we say I win, she will sometimes drop whatever she has and put her hands in the air. We have taught her some "tricks" but I think the kids have been pushing that play button too many times because it is kind of wearing out.
Enjoy the video.

Best Friends: Allison and Anna Burke

Allison is in Mrs. Mark's class and she met Anna Burke Poh in that class.
I hear about Anna Burke ALL. THE. TIME!!!
It is almost to the point that Allison can't do something unless Anna Burke does it, so it is a good thing that she seems like such a sweet girl.
Anna Burke has two girls in their family and a boy but Anna Burke is the oldest.
I am glad she has such a great friend at school. I wish she had a close friend at church but most of the people in her class are boys.

Sisterly Love

Allison just adores her little sister and I really hope even though they are 6.5 years apart, that they will grow up to be best friends.
They both adore Michelle still but Allison is more willing to do WHATEVER I ask her to do with Michelle without hesitation.
I can't see it in this picture or any other for that matter but so many people say Michelle is an exact replica of Allison.
I just love these girls of mine.

Candy Snatcher

This little girl will go anywhere you leave a door or gate open. Allison and Matthew still have candy from Halloween, and the rest of the holidays. They got a lot of Halloween candy and don't get to eat all of it.
Anyways, Allison left the door open to the closet that has her candy in it and Michelle was grateful. These are fun little "toys" for her until she finally gets into one and then that is when she tries to eat it which isn't a good thing.

She is a cute little candy snatcher though:)

Allison's New Haircut

Allison's hair was getting long. I love it long, except I broke my pinkie and haven't been able to do it. I also have a hard time brushing it since I can't close my fist and help with the tangles. She didn't want to brush her hair and was having a hard time letting me brush her hair. Chris kept saying we should cut it but I love long hair. I can do stuff with it and she loved it too....as long as she could just let it be down all the time without brushing it ever.
Two Saturdays ago, April 30th Matthew had a 9:00am soccer game and Allison had a 10:15am soccer game so I knew that I would have time to do her hair during his game. WELL.......that did not go over well. She just cried and cried and threw a fit while I tried to brush her hair. Since she did THAT in public, that was my breaking point. It is one thing to cry and throw a fit when we are home but she did it in front of a lot of people. I told her I was going to cut it when we got home, and I am not know for having empty threats. I don't usually say something unless I know that it possible to follow through with it and if I am willing to follow through with it. Because she didn't want her hair cut she had a horrible morning and pretty much cried throughout her whole soccer game. BUT when we got home, we marched up to the bathroom and cut her hair. I don't make empty threats.
She hated it. She was so worried that nobody would recognize it. Worried that people wouldn't be her friend and would make fun of her for having short hair. She was scared that her best friend, Anna Burke, would stop being her friend.

But then, about fifteen minutes later when she realized how quickly should could brush it, that frown turned upside down into a smile.

She was worried about church people but she was SO surprised when EVERYONE said they loved her hair and were surprised when she told them I cut it for her.
She was super surprised that everyone said they loved it.
She went to school and everyone recognized her ans said they loved it as well so she was good.

Michelle - 14 Month Photoshoot

I don't think I was completely sure that I would get my pictures back from when I took Michelle's 1 year photoshoot so I wanted to do another just in case I never got those pictures back.
Thankfully I did though, but I have these ones as well.
She is just the cutest!
