Arizona Trip

We originally were thinking that we were going to be out of a place to live for about a week and played with the idea of going to AZ during that time. We wanted Grandma Thomas to be able to meet her newest grandbaby and she isn't able to fly.
For some crazy reason....oh yeah, it was the ONLY week that Chris didn't have to work, we scheduled to go to AZ just a week after closing on our new house.
Not the smartest thing that we have ever done but we did it.

The kids traveled well but we were happy to get to Chris' brother, Tyler's house. It was so great to be with Uncle Ty and Aunt Katie's house. They were just the best and we had such a great time with them. They were so great with our kids.
The first thing we had there was Allison's birthday. She turned 7, the day after we got there. We had a little family party for her. She loved that she got to help Aunt Katie make her cake and also helped decorate it. She loves sprinkles as you can see.

My awesome friend, Sharon Richardson, knew that Allison would be gone on her birthday so she surprised Allison and came and picked her up Friday and took her to get a pedicure and manicure. They also went and ate and Allison got a little puppy purse. Allison got spoiled by her, that is for sure.
Notice Allison's blue nails.

Grandpa Thomas came to be at our party for a little bit.

The kids absolutely loved swimming in their pool. EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.  Sometimes numerous times a day.
Get up, eat breakfast, going swimming, was the daily norm.
Michelle's dress was giving her a rash so I had to take it off of her.
Oh well, she is a baby.

Monday, I had an orthodontist appointment with my old Orthodontist to fix my permanent retainer. Then after that we went to Uncle Ty's work. He is a police officer, on the DUI squad in Scottsdale so that was fun. Then we did more swimming. We played lots of fun games all together.
Tuesday, we were able to go to the Sealife Aquarium, which was in a mall. It was really cool.
That night we also went to this AMAZING restaurant called Joe's Real BBQ in Gilbert. It was SOO good and they have homemade Root Beer. Homemade Root Beer is SOO good. Next time we go back to AZ we definitely have to go there again.

Wednesday, Grandma Thomas had to get her car fixed so she came over to the house for a little bit, met Michelle, gave hugs and brought the kids some presents.

Allison and Michelle got cowgirl boots. Apparently the store didn't have Matthew's size so he got a cowboy hat.

Allison's new art kit from Grandpa.

Grandma Thomas took us out to eat so we could spend a little more time with her.

On Thursday, the kids and I drove down to Marana (Tucson) and spend some time with my sister Heather and her family.
It was fun to see everybody and it was Emily's 13th birthday as well, so we got to help celebrate with her. It was funny because I had just been with Emily a month before in ID/UT when she was saying, my birthday is in a month...I didn't really think we would be seeing her on birthday.
We finally left around 9 or 10 so not long after we left to head back to Mesa, this is how the kids were.

Tyler and Katie were just so incredible and awesome. Tyler took ALL WEEK off of work to be with us. I really could not believe he would do that. We absolutely loved spending so much time with us. Many days Katie also got to get off early and spend lot of time with us.
On Friday, Katie was able to take the day off and we had a great time.
We were able to go to the Science Museum and also went to a Planetarium. I was tired when we left there.
THEN not only were Ty & Katie so awesome anyways, but then they insisted they watch all 3 of our kids Friday night so that we could go on a date.
Our kids just had the best time with their aunt and uncle.
Friday night Allison just cried herself to sleep because she didn't want to leave Uncle Ty and Aunt Katie. They are definitely my kids favorite Aunt and Uncle.
The kids also loved being able to be with their dog Trixie.
I was SOO impressed with Trixie. She was so loving and protective with Michelle. She was curious about her when Michelle was in her carseat. Many times if Trixie was in another room and she heard Michelle make any noise, Trixie would rush to Michelle to see what was going on.
One time I came back and Michelle was in her carseat with the shade half-way over the seat. Michelle started making noise, Trixie rushed over, looked at Michelle, looked at Katie and got permission from Katie to take care of Michelle. Trixie pushed the shade back and started licking Michelle's hair and Michelle stopped making noises.
It really was really cute to see her motherly instincts come out with Michelle.
We had so much fun being with Ty and Katie. We are excited for them to have their baby girl, due date of December 15th.
