Kings Dominion

I am playing catch-up and kind of don't even know where to start.
I don't think I have written about us being able to go to King Dominion. It is a local amusement park for smaller aged kids themed around Snoopy.
Matthew's primary teacher (who maybe missed two Sundays the whole year) found out that Matthew had never been to King's Dominion, which is only about 15 minutes away. She works there so she told him that she would get him passes to go.
She not only got us passes to go to the Amusement Park, she got us passes to the extra Dinosaur exhibit part AND parking passes!!!! Yeah, she definitely hooked us up.
The only bummer (but not a bummer) about it was that I was 4 months pregnant so I couldn't go on the rides but we all still had fun anyways. It was such a fun family day.

This was towards the end of the dinosaur exhibit where the kids got to dig for dinosaur bones.

Chris doesn't like the rides as much as I do but he got to go on them while I took pictures.

The kids loved the cars they got to drive.

Baby Shower

I have a friend that has had a hard time getting pregnant. They did in vitro many times, has had many 12 week miscarriages and finally had two boys, one Matthew's age and the other Allison's age. They were able to get pregnant with a little girl who is 5 now and she has had other miscarriages since then. We had both been trying to get pregnant for a long time so we would commiserate with each other. I was a little sad to tell her I was pregnant because that is something she wanted also, obviously.
When Karen announced that she was pregnant, I knew I wanted to put on a baby shower for her. I started planning:)
I had fun making all this baby shower stuff to make it a good shower for her.

Some of the party favors

It was the first time of making a diaper cake. Not all that great but I had a little more time before the shower so I threw this together.

I loved this though. A diaper bouquet. I was loving it.

I also had a diaper raffle which produced a lot of diapers for her.
I thought it was fun and turned out well.
One lady said that she wasn't feeling social and just really didn't want to go that night but because I was the one putting it on, she knew it was going to be fun so she came and wasn't disappointed. That was such a sweet compliment.

First Day of School 2015-2016

School started late this year, since Labor Day was so late.
September 8th was the first day of school and we were now in a better school in a better school district.
The kids were excited to start.
I was excited that their bus stop is right by our driveway so we can watch when the bus is coming down the street and then they can come out.

Cool Spring Elementary School
Matthew's 6th school
(Carver, Henderson, Johnson, Longan, Chamberlayne and Cool Spring)
Allison's 2nd school
(Chamberlayne and Cool Spring)

This is a much larger school. Largest school we have ever been in.
There are at least 5 classes for every grade and sometimes 6.
So many families that I don't feel like we even exist, just a number...and they don't even know I am a new parent.
Matthew, age 9, 4th grade, Mrs. Buyas

Allison, age 7, 2nd grade, Mrs. Marks

Little Update

Selling our house was super easy. Our buyers didn't even want an inspection which was great for us.
We closed on our Point Hollow House on July 30th. It was suppose to be the 28th but the lady doing our closing quit the Friday before so it put everybody in a jam. It took them two days longer but we already had all of our stuff out of the house anyways the day we were suppose to close and just went to a hotel. Other than that small hiccup, everything went extremely smoothly with the selling of our Point Hollow House.

We were able to get the contingency off of our house. The sellers realtor has been shady and trying to sell the house to somebody else, maybe one of his buyers but we were able to outsmart him and so they finally took the house off the market. We really didn't think it would happen due to everything the other realtor said or didn't do, but miraculously we were able to actually close on Aug. 7th. So from July 28th until Aug. 7th we were suppose to stay in a hotel. We did that for a week and then it was so miserable some friends let us stay at their house for the other week. So much nicer. Our kids liked them so much and their grandbabies just moved away they asked them if they could call them Grandma and Grandpa Dalton.

We are still in the middle of finding a place for everything but the stuff we actually need to live is at least out.
We were here for a week then went to AZ for a week and now have been back for a week and a half. I have been trying to take the kids to the pool and getting them ready for school so I really don't get a ton of unboxing done very often taking care of kids and baby and house duties.

Kids start school on Tuesday, September 8th. They will be going to their new school, Cool Spring. We have been there and taken a tour already but tomorrow is the open house so we are all excited to go to that.

I am both happy and sad that school is starting. This summer has really just been a whirlwind and I don't think I have ever had a summer SOOOO BUSY!!!
It will be nice to just run errands without the older kids and just do things I need to while the baby sleeps but they are also very helpful with the baby so I can get dinner made and such so it is kind of bitter/sweet.
