Re-reading

As I am going back through my blog to remember small details to put in Allison's baby album I came across the post when I had just found out that my High School got burnt down. To me, I still think it is a nightmare that didn't really happen. I still think that when I go to look at that spot myself everything will be the same.
However, that was in September 2008. It is now three years later and my ten year reunion. We are having an all-class reunion and the new school has been rebuilt. They are going to do tours for all the alumni at this reunion. I am happy to see it but sad that it will confirm that it wasn't a nightmare at all and that it really did get burned down. I would like to see if anything at all was salvaged. I will post pictures when I get back of their new High School. Sadly though, I won't have the connection to it that I did with the old one, obviously but I am interested to see what new technology they will have in the new one.

Blog

I have been trying to read my blog and remember the small details that I put on here so that when I finally got around to scrapbooking those events I could remember. Well, I have Allison's pictures put in her scrapbook up until her first year so I needed to start writing in it finally.
I have been looking at those pictures of Matthew when he was so little and reading about my pregnancy with Allison and everything that we did. I am grateful for blogs that I can write down our family history and post pictures. I think one of these days we should do a family home evening with a slide show of the kids when they were younger. Kids are SOO SOO cute when they are little. I can't get over how solid and chubby Matthew was and now he is a skinny bean. I need to write in this scrapbook and get it caught up.
Even with all the frustrating moments and heartaches my children bring I am so happy that I get these two special spirits in my home.

S'mores

One of the funnest things about camping is eating hot dogs and s'mores. Chris was able to make two good fires, one for when we roasted our hot dogs and then we decided to go swimming again so we had to put it out and then when it got dark, Chris made another one so we could make s'mores. Both fires he only used one match each. We were all very impressed with his skills. There was a live band that play at the restaurant just across from us, maybe 50 yards. Chris didn't think the kids would go to sleep it was so loud but they were obviously tired enough that they were able to fall asleep. The band didn't stop playing until about 11:30pm. They were pretty good though so it was fun to listen to them and enjoy time talking to my honey while the kids were sleeping. We didn't have the best nights sleep at all and when we got up in the morning we were all ready to go home and sleep but we at least made it through the night camping. That is a HUGE accomplishment in this household. We are going to have to go do it again sometime...when it gets cooler then 100+ degrees.
